Gladys earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year for the 2005-2006, 2010-2011 and 2015-16 school years at Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh. She was a mentor for new teachers, grade level chairperson, a member of the School Improvement and Leadership Team and an active member of the Safe and Healthy Schools Committee. Gladys taught fourth grade students at Brooks. Gladys will complete her principal residency at West Millbrook Middle School during the 2019-2020 school year. She can be reached at [email protected].

GLADYS IS A FELLOW IN THE WAKE PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Wake Principal Leadership Program (WPLP) is a principal preparation program designed to train future leaders to serve in the Wake County Public School System. WPLP was modeled after the award winning NC State program, the Northeast Leadership Academy (NELA). NELA earned the honor of being named an Exemplary Educational Leadership Program by the University Council for Educational Administration. A grant from the state of NC through the North Carolina Alliance for School Leadership Development (NCASLD) funds WPLP, including full scholarships for WPLP's Fellows.
